UNCLE SAM JAM CLASSIC CAR & HOT ROD SHOW
“SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY” July 13th was the Uncle Sam Jam Classic Car & Hot Rod Show in Woodhaven, MI. The Car Show portion was promoted on three local TV stations as each came out on various mornings starting on Friday for a LIVE ONSITE coverage segment. The weather certainly was ‘warm’ to say the least with that good ole Michigan humidity kickin’ in. On Sunday, it was basic clouds, warm temps and a very slight breeze on occasion, but that did not detour any participants or patrons from coming out. In fact, at 7:00am, there were already rides parked and ready for the day. As the morning rolled on, so did the vehicles hitting the 200+ mark.
The show started with the National Anthem about 12noon. As the sun peeked out around the overcast skies, the car enthusiast’s and patrons started roaming the grounds with the background sounds of the Shell-Camino Monster Truck who was giving rides just behind the fence as well as roller coasters and the typical mid-way sounds.
BUBBA-Q BBQ was onsite for the car show area serving up some awesome BBQ and ice cold drinks getting the afternoon kicked into full swing.
With the glistening of chrome and some metal flake paint or the patina of vintage rides, the crowd was certainly enjoying the full variety of vehicles which also included some TV & Movie replica vehicles. On display were Ron & Steve Tallman’s “Smokey & the Bandit” rides; K.A.R.R. Knight Riders K.I.T.T. car evil twin brought by Jose Padilla; also the infamous ‘General Lee’ was on display by Tim & Shannon Montie from Houghton, MI.; Terry Loomis brought the first time showing of his licensed and certified “Eleanor” Shelby from the movie ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ to the show. This vehicle was built by the same company as who made the ones for the movie. Also, three other Hot Rods were there from the Southeast Hot Rodders Gang, Tonya & Jason Fightmaster’s 1934 blown Ford Coupe, John Fisher with his 1965 Pro-street Corvette (which was last years poster car) and then, the ‘showcase car’ from the upcoming Shiny Rust Hot Rod Spectacular happening Nov. 8th & 9th at the Oakland Expo Center, Waterford, was Scott Fergeson’s black, flamed out, 1951 Dodge Wayfarer custom lead-sled, all which were on the TV segments. These vehicles were titled the “ELITE EIGHT” and each were given a framed recognition certificate before the award presentations. The show acknowledgements started about 3:30pm followed by the award presentation(s). Besides the over twenty trophies being handed out, there were numerous driver door prizes given away. There was a “special judge” on Sunday…12 yr. old Connor Stamey who picked the ‘Kids Choice’ trophy which he handed out (winner listed below) for his choice.
There were a couple minor hiccups with a few of the awards, but all and all, the show was a success and Shiny Rust would like to THANK ALL participants who came out and of course, the patrons who enjoyed the stroll.
Shiny Rust especially wants to extend a MAJOR THANK YOU to FUNFEST EVENTS and all their staff for their help, support and having us back to do the car show portion of their festival. Also a major thank you to Stacie B, Tim W, Kimmy & Katelyn B, Nancy M, Tim & Shannon M. for all their help.

Swartz Creek Hometown Days Car Show
Saturday, May 31st started out as an overcast, damp, windy and chilly day. But that was not going to detour Shiny Rust Promotions from moving forward setting up and getting ready for the second show of the year. The weather slowly got better and by 8:00am, there were a good amount of participants who braved the weather and were ready to show off their rides. Once it go to be about noon-time, the winds had calmed, the sun tried to peek through and it turned out to be a pretty nice day.
The variety of vehicles were awesome and each one unique in their own right. From classics to hot rods to antiques to uniques, this show had it all. Plus the setting being on Morrish Road, just south off Miller Road was again, the perfect location. The show wrapped up about 1:30pm with the awards presentation. Winners are listed below. We wish there were more awards to hand out, as there were plenty of others who were well deserving.

The Wrigley Center Car Show
Well, the inaugural classic car show is now in the books. The early morning of the event had some weather concerns for all. But as the Shiny Rust volunteers started to set up the check-in area, the drizzle stopped, the winds subsided and temps rose enough to make it comfortable even though it did remain overcast for the most part. Then the cool rides started to roll in. The show started at 12noon and even though there were some who didn’t make it as the threat of weather did keep them home, there was a nice variety of vehicles from previous Autorama Show Winners to some very impressive vintage classics and some high-dollar newer vehicles.
The rides lined Fort Street (the east side of the Wrigley) and there were some spread out in the Wrigley Center venue with the Game room garage doors open for the public to roam in & out. The Wrigley had food and beverages available for purchase which made it nice for owners and patrons alike.
As the afternoon went on, the sun peeked out a few times and more patrons arrived to check out all the cool rides and to check out the Wrigley Center. As the show neared the end, which was scheduled for 4:00pm, it was time for the awards presentations.
The vehicles in attendance were ‘all winners’ in some degree, but there were trophies handed out after judging was completed and tallied, then the winners were awarded. Below are the results.
And a major thank you to the City of Port Huron, Port Huron Fire and Police Dept., Port Huron DPW and the owners/staff at the “Wrigley Center”.

2025 Shiny Rust Promotions Season has started!
The 2025 Shiny Rust Promotions season has already started and now as we head into the summer, we are going full throttle with Classic Car & Hot Rod Shows, PLUS some other unique events coming up this fall.
With the success of the Chrome & Ice Show that was back in February at the Dort Financial Center, Flint, it was the perfect way to start the season partnering that show with Jamo and the Griffin Engine Shop out of Owosso. Attendance was good and pretty much every patron stopped by the booth to chat.
As we now are into the spring, Shiny Rust will be hosting the inaugural ‘Wrigley Center Classic Car Show’ May 17th in downtown Port Huron.
The next event in May will be the ‘Swartz Creek Hometown Days Classic Car Show’ on May 31st in downtown Swartz Creek. Both of these events are open to all classes and there is more detailed info in the ‘Up Coming Events’ link (at the top of the website page).
And as always, Randy Wolfman will be attending various other car show events in the surrounding area. If ya see me, make sure to say a hello!
